Abria A. Campbell, 77 of East Flat Rock, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2011 at The Elizabeth House. Born in Landrum, SC he was a longtime resident of Columbia, SC retiring to Henderson County 15 years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents Brooks and Bessie Belue Campbell, son Rickie Campbell, granddaughter Amanda Campbell and sister-in-law Ellen Campbell.

He was a graduate of Landrum High School where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America, winning several awards at the State and National levels. After graduation he was employed by Eskadell Farms in Tryon, NC. He was then blessed to work for 40 years at the Epworth Childrenís Home in Columbia, SC where he retired as the Supervisor of the Grounds and Manager of Epworth Pines in 1996.

He was a member of Mtn. Page Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon.

A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be dearly missed. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Wilma Morgan Campbell; a daughter Libby Campbell of Chapin, SC; grandchildren Michelle Drumm and husband Mark, and Christopher Mills and fiancÈe Anna Cripps; and great-grandson Chase Drumm all of Chapin, SC; a sister Tracy Turner and husband Cecil of Tryon; three brothers Edward Campbell and wife Lynne of Lincolnton, NC, Elmer Campbell and wife Ada of Logansville, GA and Jimmy Campbell and wife Kathy of Landrum; several nieces and nephews and the many ìchildrenî of Epworth Childrenís Home whom he loved as his own.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Revs. Ken Nelson and Harold McKinnish will officiate. Burial will follow in Mtn. Page Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 1:30pm Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Four Season Compassion for Life Hospice and The Elizabeth House for the care that they provided.
