Anita Owens Austell, 93, of Hendersonville passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

She was a native of Greenville, SC and a resident of Henderson County for 64 years.

Anita was a daughter of the late George and Annie Hart Owens and the wife of the late Thomas M. “Bud” Austell, who died in 1987. She was also preceded in death by Amy a twin daughter who was stillborn.

She was a graduate of Furman University with a major in Music and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville.
Anita is survived by her son, Forrest Austell and wife, Kim Silfven, of South Haven, MI; daughter, Carey Morley and husband, Steve, of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Connor and Skylar Austell, of South Haven, MI; brother, Dan Owens and wife, Carole, of Taylors, SC; sister, Judy Tomlin of Greenville, SC; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 30, 2018 in the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville with Rev. Jean Goodwin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731, or First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville, 204 6th Ave. W., Hendersonville, NC 28739.
