Arnold “Arnie” Cleveland Passmore, 86, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Pardee Hospital after a period of declining health.

Arnold was born in Cashiers, NC on June 27, 1935, to the late Homer Passmore and Ethel Wilson Passmore. Arnold is also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Karene Moody Passmore; and brothers, Leon Passmore and John Passmore (Frances).

Arnold was a graduate of Glenville High School and committed to keeping in touch with his classmates on a regular basis. Arnold worked at Ecusta Corp, Taylor Instrument Company, and retired from Print Pack Inc. He was dedicated to all his places of employment. After his retirement, he continued to keep in touch with his former co-workers.

Arnold married his best friend and the love of his life, Karene in April 1955. After being married, he joined the US Army. He loved the freedom of the United States of America and valued his service to his country. God bless the United States of America! In 1971, Arnold and Karene were blessed with the love of their lives, Belinda. Arnold loved and adored his daughter, who became his caregiver after the passing of his beloved wife, Karene. Even in his declining health, he was more concerned for the well-being of his family and friends, especially Belinda. Arnold loved all his family dearly and he will be sorely missed, especially by his daughter, Belinda. “Daddy, I love you and I will miss you!”

Arnold attended Etowah United Methodist Church and Balfour United Methodist Church. Arnold loved car racing. He was an avid golfer and was a dedicated fan of the UNC Tarheels basketball and football teams. Arnold was a Washington Redskins fan and also a baseball fan. He loved gospel music and its fellowship. He also loved reading the Bible and daily devotions. Arnold loved watching news and TV shows, especially Days of our Lives, and he and Belinda never missed an episode.

Arnold is survived by his beloved daughter, Belinda Passmore of Hendersonville, NC; sisters-in-law, Gay Passmore of Vero Beach, FL and Jackie Rathbone of Waynesville, NC; and several nieces and nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

    It is so sad to lose Uncle Arnold. He and Aunt Karene were always so good to my sister and I. I shared the same birthday with him. We always thought this was special. Then they gave us Belinda. So sweet and precious to us.Our family grows smaller once again. We love you Belinda.
