Gifts & Memorial Donations

Beatrice Maxwell, 91, of Hendersonville, NC passed away peacefully at the Elizabeth House on December 26, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard D Maxwell of 67 years. She is survived by her three children, Dale, Jo Ann, and Gary, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Bea and Dick met at The Ohio State University where they both graduated. Their first date was at a dance with big band music. Now they have come full circle and are dancing on the golden streets in heaven!  (Revelation 21:21) She wants to be remembered as knowing Jesus and committed herself to prayer for the same for her family.

Bea was a stay at home mom for many years. She was a girl scout leader and Cub Scout leader and very involved in her children’s lives.  She was a 4th grade elementary school teacher in Missouri and a substitute teacher in North Carolina. While living in Pennsylvania, she went to cosmetology school and had a ministry to homebound seniors cutting and styling their hair.

She and her husband traveled the world but settled in the mountains of North Carolina. They love this area and we’re blessed to be able to build their dream home in Lake Lure.  This home was designed by her son Dale and built together as a family.

Bea will be cremated and buried with her husband at Union Cemetery in Columbus Ohio.  Services will be held at Union Cemetery in early March 2019. If you wish to honor her memory with a gift, please donate to your local Salvation Army.
