Bernice Hensley, 96 of Hendersonville died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Hendersonville Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Eliza Lancaster Marlowe and wife of the late Charles Nathaniel Hensley who died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by two sisters Pauline Searcy and Edna Jackson; and three brothers Thomas, Foy and Ben Marlowe.

She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church which she had attended for 93 years.

Surviving are her daughter Henrietta Sain and husband Hal; sons Dan Hensley and wife Dottie and Don Hensley and wife Gail; one sister, Sue Justus; six grandchildren April Jones and husband Tony, Lisa Moody and husband Darren, Christian Sain, Darby Easler and husband Brent, Stephanie Manka and husband Jeff, Emily Shuler and husband Dustin; ten great-grandchildren Tucker and Tyler Jones, Tyler Moody, Logan and Jake Easler, Harrison, Haley and Benjamin Manka, and Riley and Zachery Shuler.

A funeral service will held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 8, 2011 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Rev. Phillip Capell will officiate. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
