Flat Rock – Betty Jean Cox, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Pardee Hospital following a period of declining health.
A resident of Henderson County for most of her life, Mrs. Cox retired from the Henderson County Public Schools System and continued doing work as a seamstress for many years, making clothes for her family, as well as for the family of Carl Sandburg. Surviving are her children: Douglas Cox, Jr. and wife Pamela, Jimmy Cox and wife Tina, and Sandra Hoots and husband Mickey; seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
