Beverly Jean Jackson Wilder, 73, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at the Brian Center of Hendersonville after an extended illness.
She was born March 21, 1937 in Henderson County to the late Charles Hugh and Muriel Dill Jackson. She had returned to the area from Maryland after her retirement from the federal government to be closer to family. While in Maryland, she had an exciting and fulfilling career as executive secretary to District of Columbia federal judges and was married to the love of her life, the late David E. Wilder.
She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Burnette and her husband, Gary, of Asheville; granddaughters, Alex Burnette of Asheville, Amelia Burnette and her husband, Robert Lewis, of Durham, and Anna Kaijser-Bots and her husband, Jeroen, of Huntersville; and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters, Joyce (Jackson) Belcher and husband, Rev. Ralph Belcher, and Novella (Jackson) Garrison and husband, David; brothers, Roger Jackson and wife, Jody; Neal Jackson and companion, Julie; Doyle Jackson and wife, Linda; Baron Jackson and wife, Phyllis; David Jackson and wife, Cheryl; and Kevin Jackson and wife, Bobbi; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Diana and Janet, and brother, Ronald.
A memorial service for Mrs. Wilder will be held at 3 pm Saturday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park.
