Beverly Johnson Duszak, 93, of Hendersonville, died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Bridge at Lake Pointe Landing, Hendersonville. Beverly was born April 11, 1924 in Chicago, IL, daughter of the late Clark and Ethel Batz Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Edmund, and their daughter Valerie Kay Duszak McDonough. She met her future husband at North Park College. She married Edmund Duszak September 30, 1944 in Chicago, IL. She supported her husband’s career in the Railroad system which spanned over 40 years. They lived in the Midwest when when Ed worked for the Milwaukee Railroad, and then moved to New Jersey when Ed went on to work for the New York and New Jersey Port Authority and the Staten Island Rapid Transit Operating Authority. When Ed retired in 1983 they moved to North Carolina. Beverly was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and was an avid golfer. She loved to watch sports, especially baseball and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Bears fan. She is survived by three grandchildren, Pamela Bender (Gary), Lt.Cdr. Matthew McDonough (Lindsay) and Keith McDonough; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Bender, Zoey and Jacob McDonough and a niece Barbara Pukszta. A memorial service to celebrate Beverly’s life will be held 2pm Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church. Pastor Philip McLain will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731.
