Broadus Tilson, 80, of Hendersonville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 26, 2011.

He was born in Polk County to the late Garfield and Rhoda Tilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Tilson, who passed away in 2009. He retired from Kimberly Clark/Berkeley Mills in 1992. He was a loving father and grandfather, who always took care of his family.

He is survived by his son, Tim Tilson and wife, Robin, of Etowah; daughter, Sherry Cartee of Hendersonville; three grandchildren, Melinda Russell, Chase Cartee, and Tristan Tilson; three great-grandchildren, Jake, Kaleb, and Gavin Russell; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Mud Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Greg Mathis officiating. Interment will follow at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Shuler Funeral Home.
