Bruce Dewayne Wilkie

Bruce Eugene Dewayne Wilkie, age 34, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 07, 2023, in Richmond, Virginia.  Born on July 05, 1988, he was the son of Hilda Wilkie of Hendersonville and the late Bruce Eugene Wilkie.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Melissa Seay.

An avid outdoorsman, Bruce loved hiking, cooking; and he loved to play his guitar.  Bruce’s job involved traveling to many different states, which he enjoyed, where he would prepare and then dismantle for a NASCAR race.

He is survived by, in addition to his mother, seven siblings, Michelle Hull (Chad), Melvina McMahan (Roger), Melita Simpson (Jeff), Frederick Lanning, Sheridan Lanning (Amber), Dena Cole and Tammy Parris (Brian); numerous nieces and nephews; and several uncles, aunts and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Nathan Byrd officiating.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at Hendersonville Church.
