Carl S. Johnson, 80, of Zirconia passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Memorial Mission Hospital after a brief period of declining health. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, Carl was a son of the late Castie and Ada Bradley Johnson. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. He was an Air Force veteran and worked for several textile manufacturers. Carl enjoyed beekeeping, gardening, working in his shop, and especially spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Judi Pittillo Johnson; three daughters, Angie Johnson, Lisa Johnson Weaver and her husband, James, and Beverly Johnson; a grandson, Austin Weaver; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Tuxedo First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday evening at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tuxedo First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 685, Zirconia, NC 28790.
