Carol Mae Walter, 70, of Hendersonville, died Saturday, September 3, at the Carolina Village Medical Center. Born in Coldwater, Michigan, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Darwin and Verna Eberhard Swain. She had lived in Union City, Michigan prior to moving to Hendersonville in 2010. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Walter is survived by 2 sons, Lon D. Walter, his wife Donna and their children, Steven T. and Laura M. Walter; Rob Walter, his wife Michelle and their children, Alexandria E. and Madison C. Walter.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Carolina Village Hall.

A memorial service will also be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Union City, Michigan.

    I will miss Carol. We share the mutual battle with cancer. Her sunny smile, positive attitude and friendship were an inspiration and help to me. I visited her a few days before she died..we shared laughs and promised each other our prayers.
