Christopher Brett Corn, 44, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, Brett was a son of Richard Michael Corn of Hendersonville and the late Janice Meis Corn. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Corn.

Brett graduated from West Henderson High School in 1992 and from A-B Tech as a Paramedic. For a brief time, he worked for Watauga County EMS before joining Henderson County EMS in 1995. Brett was a lifetime member of the Henderson County Rescue Squad, which he joined in 1990 and active with Wolf Laurel Ski Patrol. He was trained in swift water rescue and technical rescue as well as being a dive master. Brett enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, fishing and snow skiing, all of which he was teaching his daughters. There was nothing he could not take on and accomplish with expertise. He was one of the most humble and talented men to step foot on this earth and because of him the world was a better place for so many people. Brett was everyone’s rock and he had a heart that very few people truly knew. Brett was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Ashley Johnson Corn; his daughters, Avery Christine and Lily Katherine Corn; his son, Andrew Gosnell; three sisters who adored him; Cindy King and her husband Steve of Troy, Cheryl Bell and her husband Tim and Brenda Sheldrick and her husband Paul, all of Hendersonville; a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews; and endless extended family and friends.

A Funeral will be held at 10 AM Friday, December 8, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Fr. Martin Schratz will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5pm until 8pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Eblen Charities Peer Support Therapy Fund, 50 Westgate Parkway, Asheville, NC 28806.

Ashley, Avery&Lily, Richard, Cindy, Cheryl, Brenda and family: My heart goes out to all of you. By now, Brett and my son Todd are exchanging "Fish" tales with the head fisherman. I will miss seeing him at Mass with his girls. Recalled fondly, Brett and Justin taking down a tree in my yard. It made good firewood...With love and prayers, Janice's friend Corliss
