Clifford Leon Edney, age 80, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 15, 2016. Born on March 28, 1936 in Hendersonville, he was a son of the late Glanne McCrain Edney and Falium Newton Edney. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife Virginia Wilson Edney.

Clifford was a retired apple grower and builder in Henderson County. He was a past member of Fairhaven Baptist Church.

He is survived by one sister, Geraldine Edney Staton and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Fairhaven Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend John Saunders officiating.

Clifford was a kind, humble, and gentle man who was thankful for everything he had been blessed with and for everyone that cared for him.

The Bible gives us comfort when it assures us that soon all causes of suffering will end and mankind can enjoy life forever in perfect health.
