Darla Kaye Krause

Mrs. Darla Kaye Krause, age 77 of Flat Rock, NC died Sunday September 4, 2022 at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital.  She was born on July 28, 1945 in Hendricks, MN; the daughter of the late Donald and Valera Dorn.

Darla was a resident of Henderson County for the last 14 years.  Prior to moving to North Carolina, she shared many friendships while living in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and California.  Darla dedicated her time to serving others.  She was involved with the Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA as well as the 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.  She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served on numerous committees including:  Hostess Committee, New Member Committee, and Feed the Kids committee (affiliated with Boys and Girls Clubs).  Her hobbies included: reading, golf, knitting, and travel.

Darla is survived by her husband of 58 years, James W. Krause; two sons, Jeffrey Krause and his wife, Michelle and Todd Krause and his wife, Kristin; four grandchildren, Connor, Mia, Alexander, and Ryan. She is also survived by brothers Lowell Dorn, Darwin Dorn and his wife, Ruthann, and numerous nieces and nephews.
