David N. Seelig, 76, of Hendersonville died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his home. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin he was a longtime resident of Miami, Fla., prior to moving to Hendersonville 1978. He was a machinist and retired from Eaton Corp.

He remained active after his retirement. Pops, as he was affectionately known could usually be found volunteering at the Carolina Diner, where he was loved and will be missed. He also volunteered at the Henderson County Mineral & Lapidary Museum and was an active member of the Gem and Mineral Society, where he served as a Club Supervisor for two years.

He was the beloved and dedicated father of eight children, Debbie Minton, Joseph Seelig, Dennis Seelig, David Seelig, Rebecca Seelig, Denise Parris, Samuel Seelig, and Kimberly Burrell; and grandfather to seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday at Shuler Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Davidís name to the Mineral and Lapidary Museum, 400 North Main Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
