    Betty Brevard says:
Many hearts are saddened by the loss of Derek. He always had a smile, loved life and had a heart of gold. I worked with him at the Y and talked with him many times. Chris was his world, each time we talked he would tell me about his latest achievements. He was a great father and so proud of his son. Deepest sympathy.

I knew Derek from Subway which he visited quite frequently. This is a horrible and very unexpected thing to hear about. He was such a wonderful and kind person.

    Susan Justice says:
I met Derek at Eckerd's where I worked and remember the first time he and Tammy showed Christopher to me. That smile never left Derek's face when he spoke of Christopher all of these years later. I pray for strength for Christopher and the family. Derek was a good guy and will be missed and remembered by everybody who knew him.
