Donald Eugene Nash, 82, of Fletcher, NC, and formerly of Pawling, NY, died Saturday, November 22, 2008, at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC.

Born in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Davis Nash. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Doreen, and brother, Robert.

Before retiring, he was the Chief Electrician at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in NY, where he worked for almost 57 years.

Donald is survived by his wife, Marion Garrett Nash of Fletcher, NC; two sons, Russell of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Charlie of Loris, SC; daughter, Lisa Farrell of Pawling, NY; two brothers, Warren of Greensboro, NC, and Marvin of New Fairfield, CT; six granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service was held in the Hendersonville area.

    I am sorry to hear about the lost of Mr. Nash. Although I did not know him personally, I would still like to offer his family some comforting thoughts. Long ago, the faithful man Job asked, "If a man dies, can he live again?" You too may have wondered the same thing. Is it possible to reunite with our loved ones? The bible promises at Isaiah 26:19 that "your dead ones will live...they will rise up." Jesus Christ also foretold of a time "when all those in the memorial tombs will come out." (John 5:28,29) So it is possible for us to see our loved ones again. When death strikes, the grief and pain can be unbearable. But you can take comfort knowing that you have the hope of seeing your loved ones again. Rather, you can draw close to Jehovah God (Psalms 83:18) in prayer, and the bible promise "he will sustain you." (Psalms 55:22) I hope that these words and scriptures can be a source of comfort to you and your family in your time of need.
