Donald L. Fullam, 85 of Mills River passed away on Sunday, February 18, at The Laurels. He was born on the Biltmore Estate, a son of the late Fred and Bonnie Fullam. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and served on the Biltmore Milk Producers Association Board and other various dairy and agriculture committees. He was a US Army veteran who served in Germany and was a founding member of Mills River Fire and Rescue. Don was an avid hunter and member of the Rocky Mtn. Elk Foundation. He was a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Luther and Larry Fullam; and a sister Ann Reece.
Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Willie Holden Fullam; son, Steve Fullam and wife Michelle and their children Amy, Eric and wife Brady who is expecting the first great-grandson, and Lee and wife Brooke; son Gary Fullam and wife Claret; son Darryl Fullam and wife Carla and their children Caprice and Ethan; daughter Lynnette Fullam Raines and husband Allen and their sons Robert and wife Leah and Jeffrey; son Matthew Fullam and wife Lisa and their children Luke and Callie; two sisters Fayellen Pitts and Gail Redmon; a sister-in-law Diane Fullam; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, at Rapha House on Schoolhouse Road in Mills River, with Rev. Ron Benzing officiating. There will be a time of fellowship and visitation following the service from 3-6pm. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to any church or ministry furthering the Gospel of Christ of the donor’s choice.
