Douglas W. Perdue

Douglas W. Perdue, 85, of Carolina Village, died Sunday, August 23, at Carolina Village Medical Center. A native of Covington, VA, he had lived in Sterling, VA prior to moving to Hendersonville 25 years ago. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and continued to work for the Department of the Navy as a civilian electronics technician in the nuclear submarine program until retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and was an active member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and worked extensively in missions for seniors. Mr. Perdue is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean R. Perdue; son, Larry Perdue of Hendersonville; daughter, Judy Nour of Hendersonville; two grandsons, Shawn Nour and his fiance Kristen Phillips of Hendersonville and Joey Nour of Hendersonville; brother, Cary Perdue of Goshen, IN and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, August 27, at the Carolina Village Hall. Rev. Wally Shamburger and Rev. Steve Scoggins will officiate. The family will receive guests at Carolina Village following the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, 571 S. Allen Rd. Flat Rock, NC 28731 or to First Baptist Church 312 Fifth Avenue West Hendersonville, NC 28739.
