Edgar “Brownie” Blythe

November 2, 1934 - May 16, 2015
Edgar “Brownie” Blythe

In wisdom and love that goes beyond our understanding, the Lord called Edgar ìBrownieî Blythe home to heaven on May 16, 2015. We thank the Lord that Brownie was brought to faith in Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit, confirmed in his faith, and has now received the crown of life.

Brownie and his wife, Lani, established Diboco Fire Sprinklers in Hendersonville in 1982. The company remains in the family. Brownie found joy in spending time with his family and was an avid golfer and runner.

Brownie was born to the late James and Nellie Jones Blythe on November 2, 1934. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Eva Blythe.

Brownie is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Lillani Pesola Blythe; three sons, Dirk Blythe, Robert Blythe, and Coteí (Teresa) Blythe; three daughters, Tammy (Sidney) Blythe, Sharon Roberts, and Caroline (Smokey) Parris; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen (Beauford) Arledge; and a brother, Ray (Mary) Blythe.

The family would like to thank the Elizabeth House for their loving care and compassion for Brownie.

A Christian memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Living Savior Lutheran Church, 301 Overlook Road, Asheville, NC.

Pastor Stephen and Sharon Kurtzahn says:
Dear Lani and everyone: We were saddened to hear of Brownie's passing. We will certainly miss visiting with you and him together and the conversations we would have. But we rejoice that Brownie is now in heaven with our Savior! May all of you find your comfort and strength in the forgiveness of Jesus and the sure and certain hope of the resurrection! Love in Christ, Pastor Steve and Sharon

    Jeremy Blythe says:
I think this man was my real grandfather. I never knew him, but Dirk Blythe was my father and so it stands to reason. Either way, nothing but love to the surviving family.
