Edith (Buck) Drew, 91, of Hendersonville, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016.

She was a native of Henderson County and a prior resident of Hialeah, FL and Pavo, GA.

She was a daughter of the late Memary and Bonnie McCraw. Edith was also preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Drew; brothers, William, Larry and Bob; sisters, Minnie Sue (Tootise) Clark and Lucyell McCraw.

She was employed by Royal Castle in Hialeah, FL before retiring. She was a wonderful mother who loved and cherished her family, especially her great-grandson Jack. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her home, summers attending Music on Main and Monday Night Street Dances and going for rides in her daughter’s Mazda Miata.

Edith is survived by her daughter, Janice Alessi and her husband Charles; grandsons, Charlie Alessi and Michael Alessi and his wife Megan; great-grandson, Jack Alessi; brothers, Clarence McCraw, Tommie McCraw and his wife Helen, Guy McCraw and his wife Eddie and Mack McCraw; sister, Caroline Cooper, two very special sisters-in-law Joanne McCraw, Frances McGraw, many nieces and nephews, and her “adopted” family (friends & staff) at Hendersonville Life Care.
A memorial service will be at 2:00pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
