Elisabeth Sides of Fletcher, NC died Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Laurels of Hendersonville. She was born April 27, 1935 in Kaiserslautern, Germany to the late Erwin and Maria Zettlemayer Edinger. Elisabeth was also preceded in death by her son, Manfred Sides, who died September 2005 in Hendersonville, NC and a brother, Erwin Edinger, of Kaiserslautern, Germany in 1971. Elisabeth was a member of Skyland United Methodist Church and participated in tap dancing at Patís School of Dance. She also was a past President of the Hendersonville Chorale and enjoyed a long and successful career in the banking industry. Mrs. Sides is survived by her husband, Don Sides of Fletcher; her daughter, Mary Sides Mowery and husband Bruce Douglas Mowery, Jr. of Mills River; daughter in-law, Lillibeth Sides of Asheville; brother, Johannes Edinger of Alensborn, Germany; six grandchildren, Shane Douglas Mowery of Dallas, TX, Steven Mowery of Denver, CO, Zoey Sides Saye, Anna Sides, Mary Beth Sides and Leilani Sides, all of Asheville and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Anna Saye. A memorial service will be held 4pm Friday, October 3, at Skyland United Methodist Church. Rev. Keith Turman will officiate.
