She was employed by the Henderson County tax office in 1963 and served for 25 years, retiring in 1988. She was instrumental in enabling the tax office to migrate from a paper record system to a paper record system to a computerized system. She served the tax office under five leaders and was the assistant tax supervisor for a number of years.

    Suzanne Collins Morton says:
You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I thought a lot of your mother and father and where you saw one you saw the other. I know she will be greatly missed. I remember way back when our families would get together and the good times we had. My mother really thought a lot of your mother and father and I think their friendship was a great comfort to her in her unhappy times. You and the whole family will remain in my prayers. She was a great Christian and her faith in Christ has seen her home. Love To You All Suzanne Collins Morton
