Ellen ìJeannetteî Singleton, 74 of Dana, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at the Elizabeth House following a lengthy illness with dementia.

A native of Henderson County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Carl Burgess and Minnie Lee Taylor. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Ambers W. Burgess, Marion C. ìBeaverî Burgess, and Walter M. Burgess.

Jeannette was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She was known for her enjoyment of the outdoors and fishing.

She is survived by three children, Melissa Norris, Brian Singleton, and Tricia Burgess; six siblings, G. Billy McGuinn of Black Mtn, E. C. ìJuniorî Burgess and his wife Pat, Hubert L. Burgess and his wife Gail, Ronnie Burgess and his wife Nancy, Sandra B. Walker all of Hendersonville, and Neysa Gail Green and her husband Marshal of Asheville; five grandchildren, Lauren, Jessica, & Parker Norris and Ashley & Cameron Singleton.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the home of her sister, Sandra Walker at 130 Willowbrook Road, Hendersonville, NC.
