Ethel Young

Ethel Christine Young, 76, of Hendersonville, passed away Sunday, July 25 2010 at the Elizabeth House after a long illness. A resident of Hendersonville, she also resided in Morristown, and Sevierville, Tennessee. A graduate of Hendersonville High School, she later worked at Southern Bell, and Bell South. Mrs. Young was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed gardening, as well as her beloved dog, Doodles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mac Stepp; mother, Florida Stepp; three sisters, Margarie Moffitt, Ann Bell and Carolyn Walker; and one brother, Fred Stepp.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, Robbie S. Young Sr.; one daughter, Pam Dickson; three sons, Robbie Young Jr., Mark B. Young and Scott D. Young; grandchildren, Gus Young, Jeremy Young, Emmy Young, and Keri Stepp; one sister Vera Orr; and one brother, Charles Stepp; and other family members, Melinda Moffitt, Donna Moffitt, Lisa Moffitt, Sherry Moffitt, Dennis Moffitt, Chris Moffitt, and Jenny Moffitt.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010, at 2:00pm in the Kirby Memorial Chapel at Shuler Funeral Home. Reverend Mike Engle will officiate. The family will receive friends at their family home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Humane Society, 88 Centipede Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28792.

    I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Ethel. I was named after her. Mama always said I was just like her. I went to see he before she went to parkridge and i am so glad i did. we talked on the phone alot. I will miss that so much. she was very special to me.please let me know if there is anything i can do. i know the pain you are feeling.much love her little Missy ( thats what she called me)
