Floyd Cahoon, 81, of Hendersonville, NC died Friday, May 24, at the Elizabeth House. A native of Norfolk County, VA,he was the son of the late Alton Lee and Lona Brickhouse Cahoon. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Lane and two cousins, India Cahoon and Nellie Powell.
He had lived for many years in Virginia Beach, VA prior to moving to Hendersonville ten years ago. He was a highly skilled craftsman in the millwork trade who, by the end of his career, founded Woodcrafters of Virginia. The company, still in operation today, produces fine architectural moldings for home builders and the remodeling and restoration of fine historic homes and other buildings. He was of the Baptist faith.
A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Charlotte Cahoon; two daughters, Diane C. Jacobson and her husband Sidney of Virginia Beach, VA and Kathy M. Linville of Hendersonville; a cousin, Earl Cahoon and his wife Bernice; his brother in-law, Curtis E. Lane, Sr. and his two children, Curtis E. Lane, Jr. and Brenda Smith and several other nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and many clients he came to know over the years.
