Floyd Oliver Coren, Sr.

Floyd Oliver Coren, Sr., 84, of East Flat Rock passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Elizabeth House. He was the son of the late William Holbert and Ethel Lyda Coren.

He retired from Cooper Construction after twenty plus years of employment. Prior to that, he worked with Pete Green Construction.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sandy Coren; three children, Floyd Coren ìSonnyî Coren Jr. and his wife Theressa of Arden, Brett Coren and wife Sheila of Florida, and Reba Coren Singleton and husband Mike of Williamston; two granddaughters, Stephanie Lockaby and husband Kevin of Anderson, SC, and Susan Simpson; one great granddaughter, Paige Lockaby and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday March 17, 2012, 12:00 PM at Old Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Hudlin Gap Road, Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30pm at the Turkey Creek Baptist Church Fellowship Building.
