Francis “Frank” Russell Muir, 78, of Hendersonville passed away, Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Elizabeth House.

He was a native of Northern, Ireland and a resident of Henderson County for 37 years. He was a son of the late John and Annie Muir. He was also preceded in death by his wife Noeleen “Eithne” Muir; and two brothers, Billy and John Muir.

Mr. Muir moved to the United States in 1966 with his wife and newborn son. He worked at Westinghouse Corporation in Buffalo, NY and Pittsburg, PA before settling in Hendersonville to work at Volvo Construction Group. He was a devoted husband to his wife of almost 48 years and he was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his son, Russell Kavanagh Muir; daughter, Carolyn Muir Siepert and her husband Chris; grandchildren, Sean Henry and Ryan James Siepert and Abigail Bridget Muir; brother, Tommy Muir; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the chapel at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Sonny Reavis officiating.
