Frank Sargent, Jr., 79, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Elizabeth House.
Frank was born in Charlotte and was a resident of Henderson County for more than 70 years. He was a son of the late Frank Sargent, Sr. and Estelle Reddin Sargent and was also preceded in death by a son, Frank Marvin Sargent and his brother, Bobby Sargent. Mr. Sargent was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea from 1952 ñ 1954 and was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Sargent; daughters, Teresa Diane Sargent and Ann Mayfield; grandchildren, Scott Sargent and his wife, Lisa; Wanda Maybin; Crystal Vanhoy and her husband, John; Brandon Sargent; Chad Mayfield and his wife, Johanna; and Shane Mayfield; brothers, Tommy and Billy Ray Sargent; sisters, Barbara, Darlene, Carolyn and Shirley; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Locust Grove Baptist Church with the Reverends Tim Worthington, James Maybin, Richard Ritter and Dan Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times, they will be at the home.
