Gertrude M. Noonchester, 90 died Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House. Our heavenly Father took her hand peacefully. Born and raised in Charleston, SC she was a daughter of the late Fred Otto Klaren and Mae W. Klaren. She spent most of her life in Henderson County. She was also preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Noonchester in 1972; a son Frederick Noonchester; and sisters Betty, Ann, Ola, and Georgie.

She was of the Seventh-Day Adventist Faith and enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends and being a mother and grandmother to many children.

Survivors include her daughter Barbara Milner; granddaughter Lisa Milner Shockey; grandson-in-law David Shockey all of Hendersonville; two loving sisters Freda McCart of Atlanta, GA and Helen Aaby of Oregon; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Randy Tryon, Carol McTigue, Carrie Cable, Martha Wright, Brenda Cool, Sherri Sierk, the Physical Therapy Department of the Brian Center of Laurel Park, Jerry Willingham, and the staff of the Elizabeth House.

A funeral will be held at 6:30pm Tuesday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. Rev. Oral Callaway will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 6:30pm prior to the service in the chapel. Entombment will be private. Memorials may be to a charity of one’s choice.
