Grady R. Land, 96, of Hendersonville, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Elizabeth House.

He was a native of Georgia and a resident of Henderson County for 18 years. Mr. Land served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient.

He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Brooks Turbyfill Land; two step-sons, Scott Turbyfill of Asheville, and Tracy Turbyfill of Candler; two step-grandsons, Toni and Tristan Turbyfill.

A private burial will be held at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
