Hazel W. Whitley

Hazel Whiteside Whitley, 79, of Edneyville died Monday, October 20, 2008, at Park Ridge Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Isaac Whiteside and Emma Nix Whiteside. She was also preceded in death by nine sisters and four brothers. She was a longtime member of St. Paulís Episcopal Church.

Surviving are a son, Paul L. Dermid, III and wife Melissa of Arden; grandchildren, Isaac Walker Dermid, Jacob Nathaniel Dermid, Shawna Michelle Dermid, and Kyndra Lachae Dermid; step-grandchildren, Mitchell Anthony Jones and Carissa Alexis Jones; two great-grandchildren, Isaac Walker Dermid, II and Gabe Nathaniel Dermid; and three brothers, Jack Whiteside of Florida and Joe and Isaac Whiteside of Edneyville.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Thursday at St. Paulís Cemetery. Chaplain Ralph Workman and the Reverend Ron Greiser will officiate.
