Gifts & Memorial Donations

Helen Heaton Camp, 80, of Hendersonville passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Mission Hospital following a sudden illness. A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Reather Pruitt Heaton, and the wife of the late William Edward Camp who died in 2010. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Heaton, brother-in-law, Thomas Edward Camp, and a niece, Kathy S. Camp.

She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, working tirelessly all her life in the church doing any and everything she could to help. She loved singing in the choir, and for a time drove the senior bus for the senior outings. She always made sure everyone was taken care of. She worked as a CNA at Pardee Hospital for several years, but most of her life was spent taking care of her home and family.

Our dear beloved Momma, sister, Nannie, and friend went home to be with the Lord Saturday morning. She will be missed so much. She has been on the path to heaven her whole life. Now her journey has ended. She is with Jesus and the love of her life ìFootî. My sweet Goober, you will be missed so very much. Go rest high on that mountain and keep a watch out for us, we are coming soon.

Survivors include a son, Wayne Edward Camp and his wife Agnes of Hendersonville; a daughter Rebecca Edney and her husband Miles of Hendersonville; a grandson, William Carroll Jenkins and his friend Elizabeth Berry of Charlotte; two great grandchildren, Candice Logan Jenkins and William Devon Jenkins, both of Hendersonville; a great-great granddaughter, Lana Cantrell of Hendersonville; two brothers, Arnold and Gene Heaton, both of Hendersonville; a sister, Beatrice Camp of Hendersonville; many nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jack Camp of Hendersonville; and a number of great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Shuler Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. Dewey Barnwell and Ken Mason will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service in the chapel, and at other times will be at the home of Bea camp.
