Mrs. Etherton enjoyed volunteer work with Pardee Hospital Auxiliary and received a 3000 hour pin for service. She was also one of Pardee Hospital’s “Women of Hope” having been a two time cancer survivor. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and an active member of the Catholic Women’s Guild.

Mrs. Etherton is survived by her husband, William C. Etherton; two sons, James W. Etherton and his wife Cindy of Swansea, IL and Jud Etherton and his wife Gayle of Hendersonville; four grandchildren, Julie Etherton Parker and her husband Jeff of Salisbury, Dottie Etherton Morgan and her husband Chad of Peoria, AZ, Myra Etherton McDonough and her husband Kip of Hickory and James Justin Etherton of Belleville, IL; six great-grandchildren, Sarah and Brian Parker, Will, Landon and Grace Morgan and Harrison McDonough.

A mass of the resurrection will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday, March 13, in the main sanctuary of Immaculate Conception Church. The Reverend Praveen Boyapati will officiate. Burial will be in Carbondale, IL at a later date. The family will receive guests at the church following the service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Carolina Village Medical Center and Care Center and Four Seasons Hospice for their care and help during this period.
