Gifts & Memorial Donations

Helen Wilkie Huntley, 88, was surrounded by her family as she left her earthly home in Fletcher to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Cecil “TC” and Evelyn Redden Wilkie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Earl Huntley, who passed away in 2016, and a brother, James Wilkie.

Helen loved her Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was the “rock” of the family, and they will miss her greatly.
She leaves behind her daughters, Susan Conard and husband, Tim, and Annette Huntley; granddaughters, Lori McAdams and husband, Darrin, and LeAnne King; great-grandchildren, Avery Conard and his girlfriend, Katie Jacobs, and Kaylee King; sisters, Joyce Jenkins and husband, Henry, and Barbara Green and husband, John; brother, Fred Wilkie; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, Junior and Phyllis Holder and JP Young.

The family would like to thank CarePartners Hospice for the loving care they provided to Helen.

    John and Carolyn Caldwell says:
Susan and Family, May you find comfort in knowing God has Helen in His arms. I always enjoyed talking to her when she worked at the nursing home. Dad and Mom thought a lot of Helen and Earl. When the grief has lessened, and it will in time, take comfort in all of the wonderful memories you all have.

    H.E. and Nellie Wilkie says:
Praying for God's peace and comfort for all the family. Helen was such a sweet person who shared her love for Christ and let her light shine. She will be missed, and I am so thankful that Jesus made a way to see her again. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalm 46:1
