Herbert N. “Bud” Calhoun, Jr.

Herbert N. ìBudî Calhoun, Jr., 66, of Hendersonville, NC, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 10, 2009 from the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock after an extended illness.

Born in Kingsport, TN, he was the son of the late Herbert N. Calhoun, Sr. and Sally Lou Anderson Calhoun. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Dennis and Bobby Calhoun.

Since 1959, he had resided in Michigan until moving to Hendersonville in 2007. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons, Jeff Calhoun and wife, Becky, of Bonita Springs, FL, and John Calhoun and wife, Linda, of Fort Myers, FL; his grandchildren, Matthew and Alexandra Calhoun; sisters, Nancy Miller and husband, Bob, of Hendersonville, and Brenda Brooks and husband, Jim, of Archer, FL; nieces, Melva Sexton, Debora Loren, and Angel Maxwell; grandnieces and nephews, Steven Sexton, Keith Loren, Jim Loren, Colton Maxwell, and Decota Fowler; a great-grandniece, Breanna Sexton; and Bud’s buddy, Terry Miller.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Cody Sturgess and Pastor Todd Page will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
