Howard Payton ìPeteî Scott, 81, of Saluda passed away Monday, March 30, 2015.
He was a native of Florida and a resident of Henderson County for more than 45 years. Pete was a son of the late Noah and Lottie Scott. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Joyce Scott, who died in 2009; his brothers, Edward, Noah, Bill and John Dixon Scott; and his sister, Lucille Godwin.
He went to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father and his loving wife Peggy. He missed her so much he passed away on the very same date.
Howard was employed by Eastern Airlines as an airline pilot before retiring in 1989. He proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. An avid golfer, he also loved fishing, building projects and completing any repair work that needed to be done.
Howard is survived by his daughters, Patti Stutts and her husband, Gordon, and Lisa Scott-Tesner and her husband, Brent; son, Rusty Scott; grandchildren, Kelly Norris, Greg Stutts, Lindsay Rowe, and Jordan Scott Orr; great-grandchildren, Shelby and Payton Rowe, Dylan Buckner, Dylan and Summer Norris; sisters, Elsa Scott, Pat Bixby and Marjorie Vallecillo; and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
