Ilse J. Carley of Bat Cave, NC, passed away Monday morning, January 19, 2009 after a brief illness.

Born in Munich, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Rothenanger and Anna Louise Fent Rothenanger. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Siegfried Rothenanger.

Before retiring, she was employed as a secretary for her familyís private business and had lived in Hannibal, NY. She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 60 years and was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Carley of Bat Cave; three sons, Norman Carley of Hannibal, NY; Siegfried Carley of Bat Cave; and Kenneth W. Carley and wife of Pell City, AL; five grandchildren, Jillian, Jason, Joshua, Timothy and Rachel; and one sister, Trudy Gagnon of Forest Falls, CA.

The service will be private.
