Jack Fann, 84, of Zirconia passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Elizabeth House. He was born in 1932 in Shelbyville, TN to the late Anderson Alexander and Clarice Clanton Fann. In 1955, Jack moved to Hollywood, FL, married Maureen Healy and together they had four children; Mark, Don, Christine and Paul.
Jack served our country during the Korean War as a military police and sharp shooter with the U.S. Air Force. In 1974 he moved his family to Saluda, NC where he built his own home. He moved back to Florida from 1981-2002; however, he made his final move to Tuxedo, NC in 2002, where he built his own home again at 70 years old. Jack was a master plaster, builder, archer, fishermen, outdoorsman and avid gardener. He even put in a small orchard on his property when he was 72 years old. He could create anything like MacGyver, yet was tough and stubborn like John Wayne. He enjoyed his cigarettes and Early Times, but he was most proud of being a family man.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen; four children; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
