Jack M. Cairnes, 64, of Mills River went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 20, 2012, with his loving wife and family at his side.

Born in Henderson County he was the son of the late Charles Cairnes, Sr. and Mary Searcy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dylan Youngblood.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and many friends. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor, ability to always help others, and his great passion for life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Josephine Cairnes; his son, Kenneth Cairnes and wife, Lori, of Saluda; his daughter, Jenny Youngblood and husband, Mike, of Edneyville; three grandchildren, Austin Cairnes, Garrett Cairnes and MiKayla Youngblood; as well as many other family and friends here and in Waverly, TN.

The family extends a special thank you to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, special family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Reverend Brian Cartee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

    we are so sorry to hear about jack. he was always lot of fun. i knew his health had not been good for the past several years. but didn't realize it had gotten worse. i know how hard it is to lose a daddy and if it helps any....tamera told me years ago when i lost my first child that maybe my daddy needed a grandchid. maybe dylan needed his grandpa. we love you even tho we dont see each other like we used to. mama is in the book, please don't hesitate to call us if you need anything. pegi.
