Jack M. Cairnes, 64, of Mills River went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 20, 2012, with his loving wife and family at his side.

Born in Henderson County he was the son of the late Charles Cairnes, Sr. and Mary Searcy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dylan Youngblood.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and many friends. He will be missed for his wonderful sense of humor, ability to always help others, and his great passion for life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Josephine Cairnes; his son, Kenneth Cairnes and wife, Lori, of Saluda; his daughter, Jenny Youngblood and husband, Mike, of Edneyville; three grandchildren, Austin Cairnes, Garrett Cairnes and MiKayla Youngblood; as well as many other family and friends here and in Waverly, TN.

The family extends a special thank you to Four Seasons Compassion for Life, special family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Reverend Brian Cartee officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

    You never know the right words to say in times like these. But what a great loss that we all have in Jack going to be with the Almighty Lord ! I know that he is having such a great time with is Dylan & Maw Betty ! Memories can not be explained, they are of such special times that we all shared with Jack. He had such a special of letting you know that he loved you. He loved us in a very special way ! WE will all miss him so much !!
