Jack Sidney Noel, 71, of Hendersonville, NC, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, NC.

Born in Greeley, CO, he was the son of the late Jack and Patricia Noble Noel.

After earning his BS and MS degrees in Agronomy from Colorado State University, he was employed by the University of Miami, working in the field of diabetes research. He later taught at Dade County Junior College and retired in 2009 after 19 years as a faculty member of Blue Ridge Community College.

Always a student and lover of music, he was an accomplished pianist and organist who took great pleasure in playing and entertaining family and friends.

He is survived by his special friend, Larry E. Moon of Hendersonville; his sister, Judy Noel of LaSalle, CO; his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Gogi Noel of Holyoke, CO; nephew, Kalin Noel of Holyoke, CO; and nieces, Sami (Brian)Wunderlich and Jadyn of Columbus, NE, and Mallori (Bryan) Burnett and Bryson of Holyoke, CO.

No services are planned.
