Jacob Lymon Hill, 85, of Hendersonville passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at home after a lengthy illness.

He was the son of the late Jacob Lymon and Maude Maxwell Hill of Hendersonville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Guy, Bill and Foy.

He was a World War II Army veteran who served in the South Pacific.

Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Capps Hill; a son, Larry Hill and wife, Virginia, of Hendersonville; daughter, Elaine Best and husband, David, of Knoxville, TN; sister, Janie Lou Patterson of Hendersonville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Friday, February 24 at Shepherd Memorial Park. The Reverend Dr. Gordon Elliott will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrenís Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
