James ìRonnieî Bane, 66, of Dana, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock.

A native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin Bane, Sr. and Lillian Lindsey Bane. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Fred Bane.

He attended Flat Rock High School and served as a deputy for the Henderson County Sheriffís Department before retiring in 2000. He attended Tracy Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, bluegrass music, and camping.

He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Deloress Brooks Bane of Dana; daughters, Elaine Belcher and husband, Robert, of Marietta, SC, and Stephanie Pack and husband, James, of Columbus, NC; son, Scott Bane and wife, Kristel, of Hendersonville; sisters, Faye Bradburn of Hendersonville and Jewel ìJudyî Morgan and husband, Leon, of Travelers Rest, SC; brother, R.F. Bane and wife, Raye, of Zirconia; sister-in-law, Mildred Bane; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 22, 2009 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The Reverends James Maybin and Harold McKinnish will officiate. Burial will follow at Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home.
