Jean Charlotte Stevens

Jean Charlotte Stevens, 89 of Hendersonville died Monday, March 22, 2010 at The Brian Center. A native of Detroit, Michigan she was a daughter of the late Garnet and Altha Sweezy and wife of the late Leonard Stevens. She had resided in Ft. Myers, Florida and Plano, Texas prior to moving to Hendersonville four years ago.

Her sister, Barbara Yakes also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her five children, Jenny Hutton and husband Todd of New York, Patricia Crump and husband Doug of Lenoir, NC, Judy Reep and husband J.B. of Hendersonville, David Stevens and wife Elisa of Plano, Texas and Beverly Tuttle and husband John of South Lyon, Michigan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother Garnet Sweezy, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, Michigan.

    I was one of Jean's CNAs at the Brian Center over the summer. She was such a sweet lady and I remember her making sure not to miss Jeopardy every night :) I'll be praying for her family!

    I am sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please accept my condolences. At times like this, I always reflect on the comfort and hope found in the bible. It is comforting to know that God is there for us when we are saddened and hurt. Psalm 34:18 tells us that he is ënear to those broken at heart and those crushed in spirit he savesí. He promises one day that ëÖ.he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.î (Revelation 21:3,4) I look forward to the day when death will be no more and we will no longer experience the pain and suffering that it brings. Until that time, I encourage you to put hope in the thought at scriptures such as John 5:28,29 and 1Thessalonians 4:13,14. They tell us that there will be a resurrection. This gives us the opportunity to be reunited with our dead loved ones. I truly believe this because Hebrews 6:18 tell us ë..it is impossible for God to lieí. Please review these scriptures in your own copy of the bible. May they bring you the same comfort and hope that I have.
