Jerry Baker, 75, of Horse Shoe, NC, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at his home.

Born in Ashe County, NC, he was the son of the late Wint and Sallie Tidwell Baker.

He had resided in Henderson County for 41 years and was a member of the Hendersonville Elks Club. Before retiring, he was employed by DuPont for 26 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Hazel Johnson Baker of Horse Shoe; his daughter, Audrey Baker of Hendersonville; his son, Alan Baker and wife, Donna, of Horse Shoe; and his grandsons, Austin and Garrett Baker.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Military Honors will be conducted by Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post 77, Hedrick-Rhodes Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5206, and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 14. The Reverend Larry Appleby will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.
