Jerry G. Baldwin, 63, of Hendersonville, NC, died Thursday, February 9, 2012 at his home.

Born in Valley, Alabama, he was the son of Kattie Baldwin Shaw of Hugley, AL, and the late Hoyt T. Baldwin.

Jerry was a beloved son and granddad and a devoted husband. He enjoyed woodworking and music, and was an expert guitar player and an avid Alabama sports fan.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 12 years, Kathleen Baldwin of Hendersonville; two daughters, Catherine Lee Lyda and husband, Commander Fred R. Lyda, USN, of Edneyville, and Amy Christine Cook and husband, David, of Birmingham, AL; stepchildren, Melissa Seliger of Minneapolis, MN, and Richard Seliger of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Lester Baldwin and wife, Edna, of Pensacola, FL; sister, Margie Williams and husband, James, of LaGrange, GA; his stepfather, John Shaw of Hugley, AL; three grandchildren, Cade Hunter Cook, Cloe Dallis Lyda, and DeShawn Gene McKizzie; many aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, February 13, 2012 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with the Reverend Harriet Shands officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paulís Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

    Sorry to find out that Jerry passed. My thoughts are with his family. I have fond memories of Jerry from the ealiest days in our life through high school. He will be missed.

    So sad to hear of Jerry's passing on. He was an old coworker of mine in late the 90's. We went different ways in life but I always considered him my mentor and friend. I remember him as a kind and easy going guy. The smile on his face says it all about Jerry. Peace Brother!
