Jerry Truhlar, 95, of Hendersonville passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Carolina Village.

He was a native of New York, NY and was a son of the late Jaroslav and Anna Truhlar. He was a resident of Henderson County for over 20 years.

While serving in the Army, Office of Secret Service, he was based in India.

Mr. Truhlar graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute with a BS in engineering. He was an electrical engineer and was employed by National Broadcasting Corporation before retiring.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gladys Truhlar, sons, Mark Truhlar and wife, Kathleen Schader, Gary Truhlar, and Richard Truhlar and wife, Mary; grandchildren, Gregory Truhlar and wife, Lilly, Laura, Allison, Brian and Michael Truhlar.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 4 in the Kirby Memorial Chapel of Shuler Funeral Home with Father Alex Viola officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
