Joey Dean Conard, 40, of Horse Shoe, NC, died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Nathaniel Conard.

A lifelong resident of Henderson County, he was a mechanic in the heating and air conditioning business. He liked to hunt and fish and loved to work on small engines and automobiles. If he could not repair the problem himself, he would find someone who could. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in the Big Willow community and a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Teresa Conard of Horse Shoe; two goddaughters, Sabrina and Tiffany Ball; his parents, Edwin and Nora Johnson Conard of Horse Shoe; four brothers, Pastor Eddie Conard and wife, Becky, of Saluda; Bill Conard and wife, Brooke, of St. Augustine, FL; Scott Conard and wife, Donna, of Hendersonville; and Thomas Conard of Jacksonville Beach, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at Beulah Baptist Church. Pastors Eddie Conard and Dewey Barnwell will officiate. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 – 9 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Shuler Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joey Dean Conard Memorial Fund, PO Box 686, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
